But to his dismay, Cipriano Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 42nd match minute, Tropa de Elite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Paes to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Guaxinim's goalkeeper Paulo José Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ian Lara. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Umberto Maranhense made the kick off in the second half. Flávio da Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 51st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Esporte Clube Guaxinim's Frederik Rauen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marquinhos Koehler in the 90 minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Frederik Rauen took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Juninho Montenegro to make any attempt to save it. The Tropa de Elite fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esporte Clube Guaxinim were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
