An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Xavier in the 16th minute of play forced Ondina FC's goalkeeper Josué Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Upá Porks's Nilton Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Soeiro in the 29th minute of play. Nilton Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Upá Porks's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Soeiro came free, but Nilton Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emerson Ceresso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Frank Xavier notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ondina FC's Josué Tavares. After a defensive mix-up in Upá Porks's zone, Emerson Ceresso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilton Sergipano came out of the goal and Emerson Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
