Picada's attentive Luciano Donato managed to snatch the ball when Jardel Lara made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. Picada's Paulão Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Fernandez in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Picada getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Luciano Donato hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Picada's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Tinoco came free, but Paulão Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Os Trezes's Téo Barreto in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Picada's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Os Trezes booed when Picada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel de Amorim struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Paulão Novaes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Os Trezes. Emerson Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Donato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto de Carvalho in the 38th minute of play forced Os Trezes's goalkeeper Emerson Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Emerson Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Os Trezes's Miguel de Amorim got his second yellow card of the match in the 44th minute. The referee ordered Miguel de Amorim off the ground. Luciano Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Téo Barreto made the kick off in the second half. Luciano Donato kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Paulão Novaes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Téo Barreto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 67 minute of play. Os Trezes's Emerson Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Donato in the 70th minute of play. If Afonsinho Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Picada's Luciano Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toninho Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Pereira having to interfere. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Os Trezes's goalkeeper Emerson Pereira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Doriva Tinoco fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Os Trezes's protests and gave Doriva Tinoco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Doriva Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Luciano Donato in the 96th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Emerson Pereira's left hand side. Chants of Os Trezes echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Picada had held the ball for most of the match.
