Tricolor Paulista's Júlio Hoffmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Tricolor Paulista from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Patrick Arantes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Júlio Hoffmann. The goal made the score 1-0. After 25 played minutes Marajazinho got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Terra. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Senna during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Durval Senna hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Délio Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Silva having to interfere. Hélio Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Délio Salles in the 36th minute of the match. Júlio Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Duarte Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute Délio Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Arantes was the one to do the kick off. Délio Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Hélio Silva made a huge save. Danilo Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélio Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danilo Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. After 57 minutes, Ronaldo Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marajazinho and the Tricolor Paulista players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Marajazinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Terra to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Tricolor Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Arantes came free, but Júlio Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes of play Marajazinho's Ronaldo Terra was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 73 played minutes Marajazinho got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Terra. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Senna in the 78th minute of play forced Marajazinho's goalkeeper Hélio Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hélio Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Senna in the 83rd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Marajazinho fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! Nilton de Almeida placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Didi Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 played minutes Marajazinho got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Arantes.
