Murilo Paes hit a great ball. If Ramiro Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Júlio Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Marajazinho's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Montenegro came free, but Hélio Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Didi Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Montenegro in the 89th minute of play forced Marajazinho's goalkeeper Hélio Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Marajazinho's zone, Wellington Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélio Silva came out of the goal and Wellington Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chelsea Fc's César Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chelsea Fc walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
