Bahia MZ Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Luiz Eduardo Mello scored to the left of an out of position Natã Neto, making the score, 1-0. Kaká Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Porto in the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Bahia MZ Futebol Clube's Duda Tavares seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Duda Tavares the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bahia MZ Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Duda Tavares had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bahia MZ Futebol Clube! Natã Neto had in the 33rdth minute some difficulties stopping Luiz Gustavo Luz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Bahia MZ Futebol Clube's Simão Porto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kaká Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Simão Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adhemar Melo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Natã Neto made a huge save. After some careless play in the Bahia MZ Futebol Clube defense, Adhemar Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Natã Neto. The Bahia MZ Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Natã Neto should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Simão Porto made the kick off in the second half. If Régis Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Simão Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahia MZ Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Natã Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simão Porto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kaká Viana came out and tried to block the shot, but Simão Porto slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 62nd minute. Kaká Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simão Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, MINAÇU F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Porto came free, but Kaká Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Simão Porto fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bahia MZ Futebol Clube's protests and gave Simão Porto a yellow card for diving instead. Basílio de Medeiros hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Natã Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Mota in the 76th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Régis Mineiro took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Kaká Viana to make any attempt to save it.
