Amorim FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisinho Freire was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Francisco Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gert Dornak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Luisinho Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fiori Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amorim FC's Francisco Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Francisco Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás Vieira hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Bruscão da Massa's Luisinho Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fiori Duarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil da Costa's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Anísio Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anísio Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Amorim FC got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Leão. Luisinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Duarte having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orlando de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gil da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bruscão da Massa's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fiori Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th match minute, Amorim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Arnaldo Vinhas hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes, Bruscão da Massa's José Pedro Mattos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fiori Duarte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bruscão da Massa reached it. If Luisinho Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gil da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Duarte having to interfere. Gil da Costa struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Fiori Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bruscão da Massa. A collision led to Amorim FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Arnaldo Vinhas hit a great ball. Bruscão da Massa's José Pedro Mattos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 76th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fiori Duarte but with some difficulty. Luisinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Duarte having to interfere. Fiori Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil da Costa in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denílson Paranaense during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Bruscão da Massa booed when Amorim FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 minutes of play Amorim FC's Anísio Leão was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Bruscão da Massa's Bernardinho Jacinto got a free kick in the 98th minute. Gert Dornak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Bruscão da Massa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bruscão da Massa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
