Elder Gonçalves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mick Schumacher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 31st minute of the match Betinho Galvão shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elder Gonçalves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juninho Pimenta in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elder Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mick Schumacher in the 39th minute of play forced Sparta Rotterdam's goalkeeper Elder Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Pedro Paranaense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sparta Rotterdam's Elder Gonçalves didn't even have to move. Oliveira's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
