Bruscão da Massa's Gert Dornak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Britto in the 23rd minute of play. Real Natal F.C.'s Horácio de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil da Costa in the 25th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvinho Vieira was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Real Natal F.C.'s zone, Tomé Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio de Brito came out of the goal and Tomé Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Real Natal F.C. booed when Bruscão da Massa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisinho Freire got free with Horácio de Brito in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luisinho Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Real Natal F.C.'s Cauã Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee ignored Bruscão da Massa's protests and gave Bernardinho Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead.
