Dona Denise's Joel Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Romero in the 9th minute of play. If Leopoldo Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Esteves in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elder Gonçalves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Samuca Batista came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Dona Denise fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuca Batista couldn't finish the play. If Fausto Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Sparta Rotterdam's Elder Gonçalves got control of the ball when Cristóvão Lira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristóvão Lira was the one to do the kick off. Dona Denise's Cristóvão Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samuca Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Gonçalves having to interfere. A collision led to Sparta Rotterdam getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Valdomiro Senna hit a great ball. Elder Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Samuca Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Gonçalves having to interfere. Sparta Rotterdam's Elder Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Lira in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sparta Rotterdam's zone, Fausto Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elder Gonçalves came out of the goal and Fausto Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Sparta Rotterdam defense, Fausto Esteves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elder Gonçalves. The Sparta Rotterdam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elder Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. Cristóvão Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuca Batista during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 92 played minutes Dona Denise got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Batista. Samuca Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Elder Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Dona Denise lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
