In the 5th minute, Anderson Vargas made a precise shot to the right of Bebeto Cruz. Juvefogo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Anderson Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto Cruz having to interfere. The supporters of Bangu Atletic Club booed when Juvefogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Wesley Paraibano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Deivid de Salles, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Juvefogo's Giovani Baptista got a free kick in the 16th minute. When Bangu Atletic Club's Francisco Carioca in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Juvefogo's goalie prevented a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Francisco Carioca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bebeto Cruz. Juvefogo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Carioca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Braga in the 27th minute of play forced Bangu Atletic Club's goalkeeper Deivid de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Juvefogo's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Carioca came free, but Bebeto Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Anderson Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 52nd minute Wesley Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deivid de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wesley Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid de Salles having to interfere. Anderson Vargas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bebeto Cruz having to make a save. Bebeto Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Carioca in the 70th minute of play. Deivid de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juvefogo's goalkeeper Bebeto Cruz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Wesley Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Juvefogo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Paraibano couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Samuca Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Anderson Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Francisco Carioca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bebeto Cruz was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After recieving a nice pass, Bangu Atletic Club's Frank Neiva tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Anderson Vargas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 98th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The Juvefogo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bangu Atletic Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
