Eliseu Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Enrique Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Foxers Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Fiori Madureira's late challenge caught a Foxers Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiori Madureira helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Foxers Club booed when Juvefogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th match minute, Foxers Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Britto to maneuver through the defense. When Rafa Britto came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Foxers Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Britto couldn't finish the play. Foxers Club's Maurício Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Foxers Club's Maurício Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bebeto Cruz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eliseu Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Soares having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maurício Ramos was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Eliseu Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juvefogo's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fiori Madureira was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When Maurício Ramos came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Foxers Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurício Ramos couldn't finish the play. If Maurício Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bebeto Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurício Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the match, Juvefogo's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Britto came free, but Bebeto Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
