After 23 minutes, Chico Marinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio Charqueadas and the Juvefogo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bebeto Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Souza in the 33rd minute of the match. Faustão Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto Cruz having to interfere. When Eliseu Braga came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Juvefogo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Braga couldn't finish the play.
