Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francisco Carioca started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Frank Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 played minutes, Mangaratu AD's Matheus da Silveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Deivid de Salles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mangaratu AD reached it. After a rather tough play, Bangu Atletic Club's Maicon das Neves got a free kick in the 5th minute. Abelardo Motta took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Deivid de Salles. Deivid de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Aloísio Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deivid de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Paraibano in the 14th minute of the match. Francisco Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Reynaldo de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Anderson Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anderson Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo de Azevedo having to interfere. In the 28th minute of the match, Anderson Vargas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Reynaldo de Azevedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mangaratu AD's Reynaldo de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Carioca in the 32nd minute of play. After 36 minutes, Matheus da Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mangaratu AD and the Bangu Atletic Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reynaldo de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deivid de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mangaratu AD's zone, Francisco Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo de Azevedo came out of the goal and Francisco Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute Aloísio Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deivid de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Bangu Atletic Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mangaratu AD were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aloísio Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. Deivid de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aloísio Paraibano in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Francisco Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bangu Atletic Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Anderson Vargas made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo de Azevedo. Mangaratu AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 64th minute Anderson Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Francisco Carioca notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mangaratu AD's Reynaldo de Azevedo. Reynaldo de Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Carioca in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Francisco Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mangaratu AD's Reynaldo de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Vargas in the 78th minute of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Francisco Carioca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mangaratu AD's Reynaldo de Azevedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Francisco Carioca struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Reynaldo de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bangu Atletic Club. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Carioca in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reynaldo de Azevedo saved Mangaratu AD from getting behind. Reynaldo de Azevedo came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Bangu Atletic Club's Anderson Vargas. But to his dismay, Anderson Vargas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 93rd minute Anderson Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anderson Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo de Azevedo having to interfere. Bangu Atletic Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
