Célio Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Munhoz having to interfere. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Marcelinho Carioca sped through S.C. Eagles Fire's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Dantas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Brasil in the 14th minute of play forced Ibiassuce EC's goalkeeper José Carlos Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edinho Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of S.C. Eagles Fire booed when Ibiassuce EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Arruda's late challenge caught a Ibiassuce EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Arruda helped the player get up and apologised. 20 minutes into the match, S.C. Eagles Fire's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Velasco came free, but Paulo Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ibiassuce EC's Marcelinho Carioca in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.C. Eagles Fire's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute Marcelinho Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho Carioca's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 36th minute, Marcelinho Carioca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Dantas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Nuno Arruda hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Marcelinho Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Célio Brasil to make the kick off. If Tadeu Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Marcelinho Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Carioca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Dantas. S.C. Eagles Fire's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Carioca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Ibiassuce EC's Edinho Gaúcho got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Carioca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulo Dantas, 0-4. Paulo Dantas had great luck who in the 70thth minute grab hold of the ball when Marcelinho Carioca from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Alexandre Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Dantas having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Carioca lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Paulo Dantas. If Cristóvão Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Paulo Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Tadeu Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tadeu Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ibiassuce EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
