Tupi EC's Yan Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Vale in the 5th minute of play. João Paulo Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Loyola having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Tamarineiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Nunes. In the 10th minute, Gilson Brasil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Paulo Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson Brasil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fernando Recife having to make a save. In the 22nd minute, Lenílson de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gilson Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes Tupi EC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Brito. After a rather tough play, Tamarineiro EC's Egídio Bittencourt got a free kick in the 36th minute. Tamarineiro EC's Luiz Fernando Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson de Alcântara in the 39th minute of play. Egídio Bittencourt was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 43rd match minute, Tamarineiro EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. If Gilson Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Lenílson de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Prestes in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yan Loyola saved Tupi EC from getting behind. With 61 minutes on the clock, Eriberto Nunes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tamarineiro EC! The goalkeeper, Luiz Fernando Recife, was totally fooled by Tupi EC's Luís Fábio Brito, who 63 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Lenílson de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenílson de Alcântara might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fernando Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson de Alcântara ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gilson Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Camargo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Lenílson de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tamarineiro EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Lenílson de Alcântara scored to the left of an out of position Luiz Fernando Recife, making the score, 0-2.
