Gilberto de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Capixaba in the 2nd minute of play. The Leverger F.C fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Leverger F.C's Basílio Lima looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 7th minute Kléberson Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9thth minute of the game Basílio Lima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Criciuma Tigers's Gilberto de Mendonça was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Basílio Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto de Mendonça was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Kléberson Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Gilberto de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Basílio Lima made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Criciuma Tigers's Gilberto de Mendonça tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Kléberson Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Criciuma Tigers's zone, Basílio Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto de Mendonça came out of the goal and Basílio Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Kléberson Loureiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilberto de Mendonça was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Basílio Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto de Mendonça having to interfere. After 32nd play minutes Basílio Lima shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Gilberto de Mendonça and just under the crossbar into goal. Kléberson Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elias Furtado shot a long shot in the 44th minute and a light blocked Gilberto de Mendonça hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Basílio Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Criciuma Tigers's goalkeeper Gilberto de Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kléberson Loureiro. Kléberson Loureiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Gilberto de Mendonça made a huge save. If Kléberson Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kléberson Loureiro's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Basílio Lima fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gilberto de Mendonça, passed just outside the right post. Gilberto de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Lima in the 78th minute of the match. Gilberto de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Basílio Lima's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. The supporters of Criciuma Tigers booed when Leverger F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Criciuma Tigers's goalkeeper Gilberto de Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Criciuma Tigers's zone, Enio Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto de Mendonça came out of the goal and Enio Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the match, Leverger F.C's Basílio Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto de Mendonça narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kléberson Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto de Mendonça having to interfere. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Criciuma Tigers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elias Furtado was slow to take the kick. During this time Leverger F.C's players had a chance to rest. Basílio Lima struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Gilberto de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leverger F.C.
