Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when João Augusto Maranhense kicked off to start the match. Célio Brasil might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto de Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Célio Brasil ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Dantas came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Criciuma Tigers's João Augusto Maranhense. But to his dismay, João Augusto Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gilberto de Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Mauro Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. João Augusto Maranhense took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Dantas. Paulo Dantas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Mauro Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C. Eagles Fire's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto de Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Criciuma Tigers getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Telmo Arruda hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Mauro Guimarães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubinho Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Rubinho Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rubinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of S.C. Eagles Fire booed when Criciuma Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Criciuma Tigers getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Telmo Arruda hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Brasil in the 52nd minute of play forced Criciuma Tigers's goalkeeper Gilberto de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Criciuma Tigers's Jonathan Vides got a free kick in the 54th minute. Gilberto de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 59 played minutes S.C. Eagles Fire got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Severo. Rubinho Vargas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Paulo Dantas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Rubinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute João Augusto Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Dantas having to interfere. In the 86th minute Célio Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho Vargas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Paulo Dantas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 89 minutes into the game, Criciuma Tigers's Rubinho Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If João Augusto Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute, Sílvio Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, João Augusto Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Criciuma Tigers's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Maranhense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Criciuma Tigers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
