After a defensive mix-up in União Esperança - standby's zone, Benjamim de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Aparecido came out of the goal and Benjamim de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Nico Palmeira put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Severino Aparecido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamim de Barros in the 19th minute of play forced União Esperança - standby's goalkeeper Severino Aparecido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Nico Palmeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severino Aparecido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But to his dismay, Nico Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. After the first half New England Warriors were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Walmir Favoretto made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, New England Warriors's Severino Aparecido threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benjamim de Barros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. União Esperança - standby's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Benjamim de Barros scored to the left of an out of position Severino Aparecido, making the score, 0-7. União Esperança - standby's Severino Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamim de Barros in the 62nd minute of play. New England Warriors were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after União Esperança - standby's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. In the 67th minute Benjamim de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Aparecido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Severino Aparecido made a huge save. New England Warriors's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
