Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) corinthias fss's Igor Cunha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 14th minute, Dadá Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Internacional's Severino Montenegro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 15th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luiz Fábio Tavares but with some difficulty. With a little luck, corinthias fss's Luiz Fábio Tavares got control of the ball when Valdomiro Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dadá Botelho's late challenge caught a SC Internacional's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dadá Botelho helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to corinthias fss getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Dadá Botelho hit a great ball. Amílton Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Luiz Fábio Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 minutes of play corinthias fss's Dadá Botelho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 28th minute, Dadá Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, SC Internacional's Severino Montenegro tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute Amílton Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's Amílton Pinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fábio Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Valdomiro Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Luiz Fábio Tavares made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, corinthias fss's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Pinho came free, but Luiz Fábio Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The nice shot from Valdomiro Oliveira in the 44thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Luiz Fábio Tavares had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After 45 played minutes corinthias fss got a freekick which was hit by Igor Cunha. 48 minutes into the match, corinthias fss's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Pinho came free, but Luiz Fábio Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Luiz Fábio Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdomiro Oliveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Fábio Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Amílton Pinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fábio Tavares was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in corinthias fss's zone, Valdomiro Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fábio Tavares came out of the goal and Valdomiro Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, corinthias fss's Kauã Favoretto got a free kick in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Valdomiro Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdomiro Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. corinthias fss's Jaime Vergílio got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílton Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Tavares having to interfere. If Jaime Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Valdomiro Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Valdomiro Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Internacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdomiro Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute, Jaime Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Severo in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fábio Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the SC Internacional players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
