Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Severino Aparecido successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 44th minute, Walmir Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 52nd minute of the match, Osmar Messias got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Luiz Albuquerque was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th match minute, GreenBlack FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Torres to maneuver through the defense. Víktor Corrêa took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severino Aparecido. Severino Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Víktor Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. If Alfredo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Víktor Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Severino Aparecido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Guga de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the GreenBlack FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guga de Senna couldn't finish the play.
