Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Goytacaz FC's Válbson Reis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Válbson Reis struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Pedro Luiz Albuquerque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goytacaz FC. In the 8th match minute, Goytacaz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Berger to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, GreenBlack FC's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Reis came free, but Pedro Luiz Albuquerque reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in GreenBlack FC's zone, Renan Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luiz Albuquerque came out of the goal and Renan Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renan Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Goytacaz FC's Válbson Reis in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GreenBlack FC's goalie prevented a goal. Pedro Luiz Albuquerque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Reis in the 20th minute of play. Laércio de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Goytacaz FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Goytacaz FC's Válbson Reis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pedro Luiz Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 43 minutes, Wanderson Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goytacaz FC and the GreenBlack FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Goytacaz FC's Wanderson Pontes got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Goytacaz FC's Laércio de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Goytacaz FC from getting a goal against them. Pedro Luiz Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Reis in the 49th minute of the match. After the first half Goytacaz FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 60thth minute of the game Válbson Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GreenBlack FC's Pedro Luiz Albuquerque was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Pedro Luiz Albuquerque managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Goytacaz FC's Renan Brito fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 67 minutes into the game, Guga de Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GreenBlack FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goytacaz FC the free kick. A collision led to GreenBlack FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Guga de Senna hit a great ball. If Alfredo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goytacaz FC's goalkeeper Laércio de Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Alexsandro Torres notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Goytacaz FC's Laércio de Souza. Laércio de Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Víktor Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Laércio de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wanderson Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Goytacaz FC's Válbson Reis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Luiz Albuquerque. That made the score 1-2 after 93 minutes of play. Goytacaz FC played a much better game than GreenBlack FC and deserved their victory. The GreenBlack FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
