The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Nóbrega in the 16th minute of play forced corinthias fss's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mazinho Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Tavares having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Mazinho Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barcelona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafael Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Tavares having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Rafael Nóbrega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fábio Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Rafael Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jerônimo da Fonseca hit a great ball. Carlos Eduardo Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Vergílio in the 45th minute. After the first half Barcelona FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute, one of Barcelona FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barcelona FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Messias got free with Luiz Fábio Tavares in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Fábio Tavares came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona FC's Rafael Nóbrega. But to his dismay, Rafael Nóbrega quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 66th minute, Rafael Nóbrega fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Luiz Fábio Tavares, passed just outside the right post. Luiz Fábio Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Messias in the 66th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Barcelona FC's Mazinho Messias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. corinthias fss's Luiz Fábio Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Nóbrega in the 70th minute of play. If Mazinho Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mazinho Messias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Fábio Tavares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rafael Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Nóbrega blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fábio Tavares having to make a save. Dadá Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Carlos Eduardo Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The corinthias fss fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barcelona FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
