Saycan FC's Diamantino Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Saycan FC from getting a goal against them. Henrique Soares took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Laércio de Souza. Laércio de Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Goytacaz FC defense, André Luís Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laércio de Souza. The Goytacaz FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio de Souza should have stopped the shot. Goytacaz FC's Renan Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Renan Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Luís Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Laércio de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goytacaz FC's Laércio de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Soares in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Henrique Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saycan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válbson Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Diamantino Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Henrique Soares notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Goytacaz FC's Laércio de Souza. Laércio de Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristóvão de Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Válbson Reis in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diamantino Zonta saved Saycan FC from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Renan Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Válbson Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diamantino Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Cristóvão de Amorim's late challenge caught a Goytacaz FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. Cristóvão de Amorim hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Válbson Reis scored 1-3 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The wind increased when André Luís Mota made the kick off in the second half. Renan Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Saycan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Brito came free, but Diamantino Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Goytacaz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Reis to maneuver through the defense. Diamantino Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Válbson Reis scored 2-3 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Válbson Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Diamantino Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Reis in the 84th minute of play. After 85 played minutes Goytacaz FC got a freekick which was hit by Doni Peres. Diamantino Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Peres in the 90th minute of play. 99 minutes into the match, Saycan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Brito came free, but Diamantino Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Goytacaz FC were the better team. Goytacaz FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
