Percival Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Pontes having to interfere. Enrique Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Xeneize MZF's Mário Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrique Pontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leandro Tepedino hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Percival Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerson Prado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo de Moraes having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Percival Vinhas got free with Enrique Pontes in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, Xeneize MZF's Percival Vinhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrique Pontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Macedo in the 71st minute of play forced Xeneize MZF's goalkeeper Paulo de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Prado in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulo de Moraes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
