Tostão Severo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clóvis Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Cassu getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Beto Lira hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Luís Guilherme Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Cassu's Tostão Severo got control of the ball when Luiz Gustavo Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute Lúcio Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians's zone, Zé Augusto Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Siqueira came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Augusto Trancoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Humberto Siqueira having to make a save. If Zé Augusto Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Luís Guilherme Arruda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Humberto Siqueira. Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Guilherme Arruda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Vicente Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians's protests and gave Vicente Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, Vicente Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31stth minute of the game Luís Guilherme Arruda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians's Humberto Siqueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Clóvis Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute Zé Augusto Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luan Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Cassu's Luan da Mata to fire away a dangerous shot which Humberto Siqueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half Cassu were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Leme to make the kick off. Tostão Severo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lúcio Leme went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Clóvis Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Humberto Siqueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Guilherme Arruda in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Luan Mineiro got a free kick in the 69th minute. Luan Mineiro was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 76th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luan Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Trancoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tostão Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Moreno in the 83rd minute of play. In the 90th minute, Lúcio Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Augusto Trancoso in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cassu were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
