Chiquinho Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Antunes having to interfere. If Chiquinho Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diguinho de Castro took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Antunes. Marcel Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Marcel Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Meirelles in the 21st minute of the match. Aírton Branco hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Wellington Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Lira having to interfere. Marcel Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diguinho de Castro in the 31st minute of play. Robinho Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chiquinho Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Traitu's Robinho Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Correia in the 55th minute of play. Allan Prata hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Traitu's Dudu Mello got a free kick in the 65th minute. Wellington Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Robinho Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diguinho de Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Marcel Antunes made a huge save. With his leg Marcel Antunes managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Traitu's Diguinho de Castro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Traitu getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Wilton Furtado hit a great ball. When João Paulo Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the A.A.Ponte Preta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Paulo Mandrak couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Chiquinho Meirelles fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Traitu's Chiquinho Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The A.A.Ponte Preta supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Traitu's performance. The match ended with a win for Traitu.
