Ulysses Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luan Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Luan Nunes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ulysses Freitas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrézinho Amaral got free with Alfredo Varela in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, João Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luan Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 minutes, Nilson Vander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO and the Japaratinga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Vander to maneuver through the defense. Zé Carlos Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ulysses Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos Couto in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulysses Freitas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfredo Varela was a little too slow when Wiliam Pena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Zé Carlos Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulysses Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Nunes in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Japaratinga's zone, Luan Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulysses Freitas came out of the goal and Luan Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Wiliam Pena made the kick off in the second half. Ulysses Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Couto in the 52nd minute of play. Paulão Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO got a corner. Japaratinga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuca de Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in João Quirino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO's Zé Carlos Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Luan Nunes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ulysses Freitas, passed just outside the right post. Ulysses Freitas made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Zé Carlos Couto sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Zé Carlos Couto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 72 minutes into the game, João Quirino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Japaratinga the free kick. PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO's Alfredo Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam Pena in the 81st minute of play. Alfredo Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Wiliam Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Pena in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Wiliam Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Japaratinga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Amaral in the 91st minute of the match. Zé Carlos Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Ulysses Freitas made a huge save. Luan Nunes did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Ulysses Freitas 94 minutes into the match. The PINGUINS ABANDONANDO JOGO players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
