If Percival Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Cacaulandia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Borges came free, but Tarcisio Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tupynambás booed when Cacaulandia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Percival Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuri da Costa hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Frédson Diniz hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Magno Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Barreto having to interfere. When Cauã Prata came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cacaulandia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cauã Prata couldn't finish the play. If Magno Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. André Luís Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amílton Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauã Prata in the 35th minute of play. After 35 played minutes Tupynambás got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Vasconcelos. After a defensive mix-up in Tupynambás's zone, Cauã Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Barreto came out of the goal and Cauã Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cacaulandia FC's Magno Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Aníbal Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Percival Borges made a kick off. Cauã Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Amílton Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amílton Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauã Prata in the 57th minute of play. A hard shot 60 in the game by Magno Barros from a close distance when the talented Amílton Barreto managed to make a qualified save. Tupynambás's players were relieved. With a little luck, Tupynambás's Amílton Barreto got control of the ball when Magno Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Magno Barross short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Amílton Barreto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 74 played minutes Cacaulandia FC got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Carneiro. Tarcisio Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauco Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 minutes, Kléberson Hermes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cacaulandia FC and the Tupynambás players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kléberson Hermes hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danilo Simão during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cauã Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Barreto having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
