Tupynambás's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Carlos Augusto Andrade scored to the left of an out of position Amílton Barreto, making the score, 1-0. Paulo Renato Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Magalhães having to interfere. Otávio Magalhães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in PlayArt FC's zone, Paulo Renato Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otávio Magalhães came out of the goal and Paulo Renato Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glauco Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Glauco Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 93 played minutes Tupynambás got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Valle. The Tupynambás supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tupynambás would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
