An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Abraão in the 13th minute of play forced Nuguacu's goalkeeper Gil Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nuguacu's zone, Ciro Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Vaz came out of the goal and Ciro Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ciro Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. In the 31st match minute, Nuguacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Soares to maneuver through the defense. Iwamoto FC's Sávio Furlan shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gil Vaz but with some difficulty. Adalberto Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Vaz having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adalberto Abraão was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Ciro Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ciro Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gil Vaz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 61 minutes of play, Nuguacu's Luís Eduardo Medeiros made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wiliam da Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Iwamoto FC booed when Nuguacu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Nascimento in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gil Vaz saved Nuguacu from getting behind. Gil Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Abraão in the 69th minute of the match. If Zé Augusto Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Ciro Nascimento put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gil Vaz. Nuguacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Eduardo Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Pedro Luís de Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iwamoto FC's protests and gave Pedro Luís de Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. Pedro Luís de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Iwamoto FC were the better team. Iwamoto FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
