Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Albertinho Lago notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Trevo de 3 Cores's Alberto Ramalho. Alberto Ramalho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 14th minute, Vito Mineiro had to leave the field with a concussion. Luiz Fernando Peres's late challenge caught a Trevo de 3 Cores's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fernando Peres helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Trevo de 3 Cores booed when E. C. Fernandes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Válter Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Trevo de 3 Cores fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Freitas couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válter Freitas got free with Nicolas Nascimento in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Carioca in the 22nd minute of play forced Trevo de 3 Cores's goalkeeper Alberto Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertinho Lago struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Alberto Ramalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E. C. Fernandes. Alberto Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Carioca in the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Trevo de 3 Cores's Fellipe Loyola got a free kick in the 29th minute. Válter Freitass short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Nicolas Nascimento to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Trevo de 3 Cores booed when E. C. Fernandes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Dante didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugênio Carioca was the one to do the kick off. Fellipe Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Alberto Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugênio Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Eugênio Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leonardo Camargo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, Eugênio Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Eugênio Carioca took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Alberto Ramalho to make any attempt to save it. If Eugênio Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Zeca Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. E. C. Fernandes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
