Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Nuguacu's Zé Augusto Mangueira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Nuguacu got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Soares. After having played for 7 minutes, Emílio Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maragoji FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Guilherme Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Zé Cerezo made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Luís Eduardo Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. Zé Cerezo stood somewhat misplaced when Zé Augusto Mangueira came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 17 minute. Zé Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Mangueira in the 22nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Remo de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maragoji FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Remo de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the match, Maragoji FC's Emílio Vinhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gil Vaz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 26 minutes, Gernando Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nuguacu and the Maragoji FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Gernando Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Remo de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Lara in the 29th minute of play forced Nuguacu's goalkeeper Gil Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Travassos's late challenge caught a Maragoji FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Travassos helped the player get up and apologised. Wiliam Travassos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Maragoji FC's Célio Lara got a free kick in the 45th minute. Gil Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo de Queirós in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remo de Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zé Augusto Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zé Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Remo de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Maragoji FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remo de Queirós couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Nuguacu's goal looked a bit too open when Remo de Queirós came free, but Gil Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Emílio Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 minutes, Luís Eduardo Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nuguacu and the Maragoji FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Nuguacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Emílio Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Vaz having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Luís Eduardo Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remo de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute, Zé Augusto Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of Zé Cerezo. Maragoji FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Remo de Queirós kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gil Vaz. That made the score 2-1 in the 86 minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Maragoji FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the match Luiz Guilherme Tróia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Cerezo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Maragoji FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Nuguacu had won, even though Maragoji FC had held more of the ball.
