Ernani Damião hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, Escadilha's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Brito came free, but Inácio Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Romero in the 95th minute of play forced Maroto AD's goalkeeper Joaquim Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Ediberto Romero reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joaquim Gonçalves. The goal made the score 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
