When Angelo das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Miraselva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelo das Neves couldn't finish the play. The Curicica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Zé Augusto Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelo das Neves's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beto de Lima got free with Rodriguinho Ramalho in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Luiz Paulo Braga fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miraselva's protests and gave Luiz Paulo Braga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Miraselva getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Braga hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Miraselva's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Ramalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Miraselva got a freekick which was hit by Gil Vargas. Gil Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Rodriguinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo de Souza in the 46th minute of the match. Claudinei Borges hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo de Souza was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Curicica's Zé Augusto Rezende got control of the ball when Joélson de Mendonça tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute, Rodrigo de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodriguinho Ramalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Gil Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Angelo das Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Augusto Rezende was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
