Charles Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Nilson Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitinho Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henrique Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Henrique Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrique Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitinho Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Henrique Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute Henrique Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitinho Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 22 minutes into the game, Luiz Fábio Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mraoliveira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gira EC the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Mraoliveira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Seco to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Gira EC booed when Mraoliveira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gira EC fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Gira EC's Henrique Ortiz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Henrique Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vitinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kléberson Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafa Linhares made a kick off. Leandro Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd match minute, Mraoliveira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Faria to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Mraoliveira's zone, Sydney Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitinho Tavares came out of the goal and Sydney Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rafa Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gira EC's goalkeeper Charles Trancoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Charles Trancoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rafa Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Mraoliveira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Linhares couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute, Juan Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henrique Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Vitinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rafa Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Luís de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Henrique Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vitinho Tavares was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Mazza during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Juan Mazza hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd play minute Sydney Sabóia came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vitinho Tavares. 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gira EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
