De-Jesús Lewandowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. De-Jesús Lewandowski ran back to his position shaking his head. Mateus de Azevedo lost his temper 11 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of S.E. Bento XVI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Força Alagoana:s goal. When the match had been going on for 14 minutes, Força Alagoana's De-Jesús Lewandowski got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Durval Souto. Maicon Brodel's late challenge caught a S.E. Bento XVI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maicon Brodel helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Força Alagoana getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Maicon Brodel hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, S.E. Bento XVI's Adhemar Cearense got a free kick in the 25th minute. Claudinei Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 31 minutes, De-Jesús Lewandowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Força Alagoana's supporters crossed their fingers, but De-Jesús Lewandowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Força Alagoana booed when S.E. Bento XVI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doni Figueiredo to make the kick off. Dariusz Lichucki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doni Figueiredo in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Frederico Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. De-Jesús Lewandowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Durval Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from De-Jesús Lewandowski in the 73rd minute of play. Adhemar Cearense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. De-Jesús Lewandowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Souto having to make a save. 95 minutes into the game, Alejandro Pagan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Força Alagoana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Bento XVI the free kick. The Força Alagoana players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
