Bento XVI fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when S.E. Bento XVI's Doni Figueiredo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd rose to their feet as S.E. Bento XVI's Víktor Veiga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Charles Trancoso. That made the score 2-0 after 29 minutes of play. Durval Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Ortiz in the 33rd minute of play. When Víktor Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the S.E. Bento XVI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Víktor Veiga couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Gira EC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. André Luís de Azevedo hit a great ball. In the 39th minute of the match Oséas Lopez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charles Trancoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 41st minute Víktor Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Henrique Ortiz made the kick off in the second half. Mateus de Azevedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Charles Trancoso. Gira EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Víktor Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gira EC's Charles Trancoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. S.E. Bento XVI's Víktor Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th match minute, Gira EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Doni Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Bento XVI's supporters rose to their feet, but Doni Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Víktor Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Trancoso having to interfere. In the 75th minute Adhemar Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sydney Sabóia got free with Durval Souto in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. S.E. Bento XVI's Doni Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Víktor Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Trancoso having to make a save. Adhemar Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Sydney Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sydney Sabóia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bento XVI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doni Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, S.E. Bento XVI's Arlindo Castro got a free kick in the 96th minute. S.E. Bento XVI's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
