But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Cearense couldn't finish the play. Régis de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fabiano Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Lima having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Cucuruto da Vovó's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Cearense came free, but Elivélton Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fabiano Bertassi's late challenge caught a Lustosa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee showed Ricardo Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Lustosa getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ricardo Valle hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cucuruto da Vovó players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lustosa.
