In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pageu's goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Régis de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Lustosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Régis de Toledo couldn't finish the play. But to his dismay, Amauri Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Álvaro Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Lino de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Álvaro Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Daniel Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robinho dos Santos during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lustosa booed when Pageu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Fernandes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Álvaro Cearense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Daniel Fernandes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lustosa's Régis de Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
