Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrique Gerber in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erik Trancoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adhemar Mesquita got free with Luís Fernando Chaves in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's Róbson Correia got a free kick in the 97th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Moura in the 99th minute of play forced Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
