To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zbyszek Gabis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lúcio Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 19 minutes, Sílvio Luís Matorin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fortnite and the 25 de Outubro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Fortnite defense, Lúcio Quirino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zbyszek Gabis. The Fortnite fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zbyszek Gabis should have stopped the shot. Zbyszek Gabis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Quirino in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Zé Paulo Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zbyszek Gabis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Arce in the 36th minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Fortnite's Giovani Hoffmann dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Zé Paulo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Lúcio Quirino made the kick off in the second half. Giovani Hoffmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnaldo Cardozo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Zé Paulo Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Arnaldo Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adhemar Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zbyszek Gabis having to interfere. When Fortnite's Zé Paulo Nunes in 64 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Arnaldo Cardozo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After a rather tough play, Fortnite's Tarcisio Barreto got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Natã Trigo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zbyszek Gabis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Zé Paulo Nunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnaldo Cardozo was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. If Gilberto Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gilberto Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortnite's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The 25 de Outubro supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing 25 de Outubro would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
