Belmiro Galvão charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belmiro Galvão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Belmiro Galvão hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Igarape AD's Betão de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute, 25 de Outubro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Betão de Sousa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 27th minute, one of 25 de Outubro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for 25 de Outubro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Loyola in the 44th minute of play forced 25 de Outubro's goalkeeper Arnaldo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Adhemar Arce who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Rony Godoi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Celso Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Cardozo having to interfere. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
