If Sílvio Luís Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's Luís Fernando Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Hoffmann in the 27th minute of play. If Giovani Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Fortnite's goalkeeper Zbyszek Gabis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisão Saraiva. Zé Paulo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrique Gerber's late challenge caught a Fortnite's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrique Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's Henrique Gerber got a free kick in the 39th minute. Giovani Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Chaves having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giovani Hoffmann to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's zone, Gilberto Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando Chaves came out of the goal and Gilberto Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Fortnite's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Gerber came free, but Zbyszek Gabis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarcisio Barreto's late challenge caught a Sao Paulo Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tarcisio Barreto helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Fortnite got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Barreto. Wilian Ceresso, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 71st minute, Giovani Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zbyszek Gabis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauã Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Sao Paulo Futebol Clube booed when Fortnite was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Johansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Fortnite defense, Cauã Paraibano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zbyszek Gabis. The Fortnite fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zbyszek Gabis should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute, João Pedro Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Fortnite's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Gerber came free, but Zbyszek Gabis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovani Hoffmann struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Luís Fernando Chaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortnite. Fortnite were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
