Humberto Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Cardozo having to interfere. Wiliam Capixaba came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by 25 de Outubro's Lúcio Quirino. But to his dismay, Lúcio Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Humberto Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Cardozo having to interfere. With his leg Arnaldo Cardozo managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Tricolor do Morumba's Adilson de Senna fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Tricolor do Morumba booed when 25 de Outubro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adilson de Senna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Arnaldo Cardozo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Luciano Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tricolor do Morumba's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 36 minutes into the match, Tricolor do Morumba's Humberto Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnaldo Cardozo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tricolor do Morumba's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oséas Queiroz in the 38th minute. The corner led Tricolor do Morumba's Oséas Queiroz to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnaldo Cardozo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Adilson de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Humberto Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tricolor do Morumba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Adilson de Senna made the kick off in the second half. If Adilson de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Maia might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnaldo Cardozo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Maia ran back to his position shaking his head. Adilson de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Cardozo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Maia in the 60th minute of play forced 25 de Outubro's goalkeeper Arnaldo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnaldo Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adilson de Senna in the 62nd minute of the match. When Tricolor do Morumba's Adilson de Senna in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Falcão Diniz got free with Wiliam Capixaba in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luciano Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes, Alfredão Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 25 de Outubro and the Tricolor do Morumba players grew even worse after the yellow card. 25 de Outubro were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Tricolor do Morumba's much stronger midfield.
