Ronaldo Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diogo Soeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Arce ran back to his position shaking his head. Diogo Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amauri Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amauri Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Vianna having to interfere. Joaquim Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerson Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Amauri Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chester FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amauri Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ronaldo Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diogo Soeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. If Gerson Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Vianna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerson Batista went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 95 minutes into the match, Chester FC's Gerson Batista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Vianna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chester FC had played much better football throughout.
