Cacá de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boruc Motowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Porto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boruc Motowski ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute Nilmar Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Itajuipe EC's Cacá de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalmo Loureiro in the 22nd minute of play. Boruc Motowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeca Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Cacá de Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adalmo Loureiro went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot 33 in the game by Victor Mendiko from a close distance when the talented Zeca Porto managed to make a qualified save. Uiuna's players were relieved. When Nilmar Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Itajuipe EC fans jumped to their feet. Uiuna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itajuipe EC the free kick. The Itajuipe EC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Itajuipe EC's Victor Mendiko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Victor Mendiko who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Zeca Porto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cacá de Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Paulo Tróia went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adalmo Loureiro to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boruc Motowski in the 52nd minute of play forced Uiuna's goalkeeper Zeca Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Antunes took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cacá de Andrade. Cacá de Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Cacá de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Tróia in the 58th minute of play. Zeca Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boruc Motowski in the 59th minute of the match. After 62 minutes, Victor Mendiko made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Uiuna's Zeca Porto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Itajuipe EC's Cacá de Andrade got control of the ball when João Paulo Tróia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nilmar Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Porto having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Nilmar Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itajuipe EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilmar Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Antunes got free with Cacá de Andrade in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 89 played minutes Itajuipe EC got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Paiva. Zeca Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
