The audience was convinced that Almir da Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrado Fontes was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Serafim Bastos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Aguiar. That made the score 0-3 in the 94 minute of play.
