The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmílson Tepedino to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcel Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willian Faria in the 53rd minute of play. Edmílson Tepedino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcel Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Gama's Edmílson Tepedino was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 65 played minutes Rio Grande Do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Recife. Willian Faria struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Marcel Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gama. Luizinho Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcel Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When José Vítor do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gama's protests and gave José Vítor do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Gama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
