Osvaldo Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Sena having to interfere. Aníbal Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Marcel Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aníbal Favoretto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcel Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Luizinho Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 20 minutes, Osvaldo Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Futebol Diadema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Bezerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Osvaldo Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Sena having to interfere. Marcel Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Bezerra in the 25th minute of the match. After 25 played minutes Rio Grande Do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo de Almeida. Club Futebol Diadema's Júlio Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Teles in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Luizinho Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Grande Do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Rio Grande Do Sul's Davi Freire in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Júlio Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Teles in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Club Futebol Diadema's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Freire came free, but Júlio Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luizinho Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Júlio Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Júlio Coutinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luizinho Teles in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Club Futebol Diadema's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Freire came free, but Júlio Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luizinho Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Coutinho having to interfere. With a little luck, Club Futebol Diadema's Júlio Coutinho got control of the ball when Luizinho Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Club Futebol Diadema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizinho Teles got free with Júlio Coutinho in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcel Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chiquinho Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcel Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Favoretto in the 85th minute of play. Luizinho Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davi Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
